Drinking more water is a wonderful and very healthy goal for you to consider in 2006. Water is processed by your body differently than any other liquid on earth. When you drink water, your stomach recognizes it, your body absorbs it very quickly, and then sends it off to do jobs that only WATER can do. In fact, the 2003 Nobel Prize for chemistry went to Peter Agre, a professor of biological chemistry at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore . He discovered that water moves through your body in special “water channels”, and that the flow of water and ions in these channels is what makes communication between the different cells of your body possible. As the water and ions flow, the ions transmit signals that start cascades of chemical reactions that govern each and every one of your bodily functions. In other news, the results of a study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology (Vol. 155, No.9) reveal that drinking high amounts of plain water is as important as exercise, diet, or not smoking in preventing coronary heart disease. The results from this study show that by drinking more plain water, healthy people without any history of heart disease, stroke, or diabetes reduced their risk of dying from a heart attack by 50% or more! This is as much or more than if they had adopted any other well-known preventive measure, including stopping smoking and lowering cholesterol levels, increasing exercise or maintaining ideal weight. You can read more about this study on your priceless Wholefood Farmacy Website. Simply click on WHOLEFOOD LINKS, then click on the Wellness Wednesday Archive for 12/28/05. Niki Reynolds hails from Binghamton, NY , and she joined the Wholefood Farmacy in June 2005. In 2001, Niki was diagnosed with breast cancer and the diagnosis was grim. The doctors said that with chemotherapy she could possibly live two years. It’s 2006 and Niki is still with us, but it wasn’t chemo that saved her life… it was food. After attending a raw food seminar, Niki’s eyes were opened to the impact that enzymes and pH balance can have on the body. Let’s hear the rest of this story from Niki in person. “I began to follow some of the principles of that raw food program and did experience some improvement but I had difficulty finding the many varieties of organic produce, nuts and grains that I was looking for in our local whole food markets. Then I discovered The Wholefood Farmacy. As I pursued the web site, I found everything that I had been looking for in one convenient location. I got started by eating the Phi Plus, Frutalicious, Veggielicious, and having a couple of Liquithon drinks per day, eating only raw organic fresh fruits and vegetables, along with walking and drinking lots of pure water. After about the third day I started noticing a tremendous increase in my energy level, and the pain in my lymph nodes was clearly diminishing. After a few weeks on these foods my headaches had become a thing of the past. My quality of life has improved so dramatically; I can hardly believe it myself. I’m now able to resume simple activities that most people take for granted. I feel completely blessed to be able to get up each day and feel that I’m back in the land of the living. I didn’t even realize how much I was suffering until now that I’m experiencing such a genuine sense of well being. I now have strength and vitality that I haven’t had for many years, if ever. HALLELUJAH! I just want to shout it from the rooftops! Mere words cannot express the deep feelings I have for The Wholefood Farmacy. There’s no doubt in my mind that these foods have saved my life, on so many levels. The special combination of these ingredients is ingenious in my opinion, and I believe that every single person can benefit from eating these foods. Don’t wait until something happens to jeopardize your health. Safeguard yourself by building inner strength and vitality with The Wholefood Farmacy." At your service,
