                                                     THE WHOLEFOOD FARMACY NEWSLETTER

                                                                             AUGUST 2006

Hear Ye!  Hear Ye!  “Free Phi and More”

We are happy to announce our new Customer Loyalty Program !

Our HARP program has just been granted an upgrade. You will now receive a 5% discount on all HARP orders of $43 or more. Additionally, when your order is $79 or more you will receive a free one pound bag of Phi Plus. If your order equals or exceeds $158 you will receive 2 free one pound bags of Phi Plus. Here’s how it works.

In the interest of fair play and encouragement, we’re giving everyone a free pass for the month of August. In other words, our system has been programmed to recognize EVERY DISTRIBUTOR in July (last month) as having placed a HARP order. (Isn’t that great!) Therefore, by placing a HARP order in August 2006, you will automatically reap the rewards of our Customer Loyalty Program. Then, by simply continuing to utilize the HARP system of ordering, your discounts and free PHI will continue. If you have a standing HARP order now, you need not do anything except enjoy the discount and free PHI. If you do not have a HARP order, simply go to your back office and make one. It’s simple. As always, you are able to modify your HARP or cancel it at any time prior to the shipping date. We know that this is a feature that many of you will enjoy and we encourage you to share the good news with others, both present and future Farmacists. “Semper PHI”,

The Plunge, the package……..

We are happy to make available to you this special package. This package includes 2 each, SimpliPhi. Each SimpliPhi includes 2 portions of DetoxiPhi, ElectriPhi, FructiPhi, GloriPhi, AmpliPhi, BeautiPhi, and ClariPhi. This means that you have enough for 4 full days. This package also includes 2 pounds of Phi Plus. And finally, we have included a jar of Stardust 2Hydr8, more than enough for your five day nutritional event. This package comes to you for only $71.80. That’s a savings of more than 10% of the regular wholesale price. Enjoy the plunge.

Take the Plunge. During this summer of record setting and record warping heat, taking a plunge sounds like a refreshing idea. After all, we weren't really designed to live in oppressive heat. And somehow being an air conditioned gypsy is not a great (although sometimes necessary) solution. This weather is exasperated by our own bodies. We weren't really designed to be carrying an average of twenty pounds extra per person. Nor were we designed to be a garbage dump for undigested toxic waste. Nonetheless that is the state of the weather and the waistline (and hips, and thighs, and arms, and necks, and....well you get the picture.)

So let's cool off. Let's find a happy swimming hole and jump in. Let's engage in a playful squirt gun battle or get under a garden hose. Let's take some early morning walks and late afternoon ones. Let's learn to strategically place fans in the home and office to maximize relief. And after we have done all of that, let's look at a more definitive solution and then explore a definitive plan of action.

Nutritionally, we need to take a plunge on a regular basis. Even if you are fit as a fiddle, you need to take a healthful plunge on a regular basis. Some folks pay close attention to the signs and seasons and take scheduled time to cleanse, fast, and heighten their human experience. Most, however, unfortunately, do not.

Too many people fall under the spell of TV, radio, billboards, and other mass reaching media and methods. Their new seasons are more affected by programming rather than good sense.

Good sense tells us when something is amiss. When our pants no longer fit, our belt length increases, our shirts get too tight, or the theatre chairs seem to be getting smaller, we should know that "good sense" is telling us that we are fat. So let's Take a Plunge.

First though, a few quick hints about beating the heat. Learn to enjoy celery on a regular basis. Fresh organic celery is a wonderful food that is great for your bones and joints and is also very cooling to your body. Eggplant is  great. Watermelon and cantaloupe are great coolers but should be eaten separate of other foods. Cucumbers and related foods may help to reduce inflammation and swelling that is brought on by excess heat. Radishes, carrots, lettuce and other garden vegetables can be quite cooling and healthful. Drinks such as the Liquithon farina drinks combined with summer berries and turned into a smoothie are a great idea. Stardust 2Hydr8 is a great cooler. Also, peppermint. Consider using sublime on a more frequent basis.

O.K. Now let's really get down to business.

Perhaps you just don't have it together yet to allow  your self to do a Tri-Decathlon or Liquithon, but you don't really like the results that you've been getting so far doing what you've been doing. SO........What to do?????

TAKE THE PLUNGE, that is the Wholefood Farmacy Plunge .

The WFF plunge is a simple idea that sends your body on a long weekend of specific nutrition and revitalization. Here's how it works.

Start on a Thursday afternoon and begin to eat only WFF snacks such as Phi Plus, Veggielicious, or Fruitalicious. Also, drink some Stardust2Hydr8. On Friday Morning have some more Stardust2Hydr8 and a little Phi. Now start with DetoxiPhi and have a glass. Drink it with cold water and drink it right away. Now every two hours have another farina. We suggest that you go next to ElectriPhi, then FructiPhi, then GloriPhi, then AmpliPhi, then BeautiPhi, and then ClariPhi. Remember, you're getting a low calorie, nutritious, delicious, meal every two hours. WOW, you're never hungry and never bogged down. Do this again on Saturday. If you need to add a fresh peach in there, then DO IT!   Do this again on Sunday. Remember to drink your Stardust2Hydr8. Do this again on Monday. Remember to get a deliberate walk, swim, bicycle ride, or floor exercise in each day. Now it's Tuesday. Start Tuesday with some Phi snacks and ease yourself back into a regular healthful diet. We suggest that you utilize a lot of vegetables, fruits, and maybe some wholegrain breads as you come back from the brief, yet refreshing plunge into better health. You will feel and look better. We have put together a special package for this event and have decided to call it, "The Plunge".

Ask Dr. John

Question:  Dr John, Why do many diet books and health experts encourage eating 5-6 times per day, rather than the traditional 2-3 times?

Answer:  This is due to our body’s ability to go into “starvation mode”. This mode refers to the metabolism slowing down in an effort to preserve the calories eaten in the last meal. When the body is only fed at 5 hour intervals (or longer), it conserves energy because it must do so to survive Simply put, the body “fears” that it has seen its last meal. This is common to those who eat only 2-3 times per day. On the other hand, we can feed the body more often, which is 5-6 times per day to encourage it to keep its metabolism as high as possible. Not only does the metabolic rate slow down when we deprive it of food, but we have to deal with the side effects such as headaches, low energy, and irritability. However, please note that to eat 5-6 times daily, that each meal should be in small portions so there’s a need to eat again  one or two hours later. These meals are simply snacks and should include such choices as nuts, organic yogurt, whole wheat toast, fruits, or vegetables. Of course, the better choices include Phi Plus, Veggielicious, Fruitalicious, Wholefood Farmacy Greens, any of the Liquithon Farinas, or of course any of the WFF’s wonderful soups.

Ask Dr. John is a new feature that gives you the opportunity to ask health and wellness related questions. You may ask Dr John your questions by emailing them to customer service.
