 THE WHOLEFOOD FARMACY NEWSLETTER

JUNE 2005

Greetings Fellow Farmacists,

  Horse Sense

Kay Johnson of Falcon, CO tells us of an exciting, recent happening involving her son's horse, Teddy, and our flagship product Phi Plus. Teddy is a working horse on a Colorado ranch and one morning her son went to bring him in to saddle him up and discovered that Teddy was stubborn, reluctant and unwilling to cooperate. This was not the norm for Teddy and after a great deal of work, he was soon loaded onto the horse trailer and taken to the veterinarian. Tests showed that the horse had been dining on "loco weed". This sage related plant contains Swainsonine, which is toxic to livestock and almost always fatal. The vet began treatments that included vitamin B.

Kay immediately sent some Phi-plus for Teddy's nourishment. Starting with a handful at a time, the horse began to respond within a few days. The veterinarian said later, that when the animal was first brought in, that he figured him for dead in a short time and that he had probably been into the toxic weeds for a couple of weeks.

Teddy is now beginning to regain his strength and his weight. Also, he is no longer trembling. His spirits are up and he is beginning to act like a horse again and is even beginning to gallop. He still has some trouble with the soundness of his mind, but everyone has high hopes of recovery. He continues to eat Phi-plus and DetoxiPhi and will also be given ClariPhi and BeautiPhi.  We all wish Teddy the best!

   Dogs and Cats

Kim Lucas of Spartanburg, SC writes to express how much her fifteen year old "kitten" Tyke just loves her Phi Plus - "She just seems to be drawn to it".  Kim says that she is glad to share her favorite food with her friend Tyke.  Dog stories are numerous as well.   Of Mice and Men

One Farmacist, who shall remain unnamed, relates a tale of the visiting mice. One night he came home from the office and had just received his Wholefood Farmacy "HARP" order.  His standing order included TropiPhi and Phi Plus. Laying his goodies on the counter as he came in, he gave no thought to the surprise guests that were about to enter his kitchen that evening and invite themselves to dinner. The next morning he found the Phi's violated and he also noted that the cookies and other supermarket foods that were lying on the same counter were untouched. He concluded that sometimes mice were smarter than men!

    Fine Feathered Friends

While visiting at the Cincinnati Zoo, Jennifer Ritchie and her four year old daughter Saydee decided to have their favorite lunch, Phi Plus and TropiPhi. Saydee decided to share some of hers with the peacocks and soon all of the beautiful birds were following them.  These birds were absolutely ignoring the food prepared for them by the zoo. Saydee found this to be very intriguing.   Many other people are telling us just how much their parakeets, and other birds are enjoying the Phi's. Please send us your story.

    Coons and Opossums

If you live in the mountains, where your nearest neighbors do not drive cars and are generally illiterate, take care that someone is home when your Wholefood Farmacy order is delivered or have it sent somewhere other than the great outdoors. The neighbors that I'm referring to are also known hereabouts as varmints. Now varmints are native and although most are untamed, some are as friendly as your cousin on payday.  And, they will help themselves even without invitation.

I learned this the hard way when a Tri-Decathlon was delivered to my mountain home and went unclaimed by any two legged creature until---- well, until too late. I didn't even notice that it had been delivered, even though packages were always left right against the back door. The next morning I found remnants of the box it came in strewn about the yard near the shed. There was not a bag left, not even a little bit. Interestingly, the next night a delivery of pills and capsules was very much intact even though I came home later than the night before. Either those raccoons and possums were still stuffed from the night before or they had better sense than to mess with pills and capsules.

    The Beat Goes On......

Congratulations to Jennifer Ritchie and Suzanne Konnersman!  You read about these two determined young ladies in last month's newsletter and if you did not, then you still can by going to your WFF website and clicking on News & Events.

Jennifer, in the last newsletter, had set a goal of running a 10K sometime this fall. (Remember, that we asked for, any wagers?)  Well, Jennifer surprised us all and even herself as she participated in and completed a half-marathon run on May 1st. The race was the annual Flying Pig Marathon held in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jennifer completed this race in less than five hours, falling several times, walking some, and even crawling a little. The first time she fell, her knee was protected, ironically, by a bag of TropiPhi that she was carrying for nutrition and energy. She says that the biggest obstacle was dodging the commercial sports drinks that were constantly being thrust toward her.

In case you don’t know, a half-marathon is a little over 13 miles. Not bad for a girl that used to be confined to a wheelchair.  Jennifer, we at The Wholefood Farmacy salute you!

   .....and On and On....

Suzanne Konnersman is to also be congratulated in her recent accomplishments. Suzanne, as you remember from last month's newsletter, has been wheelchair dependent for going on seven years now.

NOW READ THIS,  Suzanne is now able to use a walker that has wheels. And, it gets even better. She is also successfully using leg braces and is able to lock her knees out. This allows her to stand for varying lengths of time. Usually, she stands for at least 30 minutes and has stood for a record 3 hours. Sewing is a passion for her and she has learned to sew with one hand and work the pedal with the other. Her goal is to be using her foot on the pedal by the end of the year. Any Wagers?

Suzanne and Jennifer workout regularly, dine naturally, and include Wholefood Farmacy foods everyday.  Jennifer says that Phi Plus and TropiPhi are absolutely necessary to maintain her G.I.  tract balance.  They appreciate your prayers and thank those of you that are praying.

Watermelon, Watermelon Everywhere....  And OH SO good to Eat

Do you love watermelon?  Well, you should. Nothing satisfies quite like a juicy, sweet, red watermelon on a hot day, warm evening or even a great morning. I like mine with the seeds still in the melon. It never has been clear to me how something "seedless" grows in the first place. One of the best ways I know to enjoy a watermelon is to take a scoop or three or five and just dump it into the family blender (seeds and all) and give it a good whirl. The seeds are nutritious and the taste of blended melon will be a newfound event.

Another great way that I enjoy watermelon is "watermelon pie."  Well this is a cold pie and has everything to do with the cutting of the melon.  Remember how your dad always cut the melon from end to end?  Well, don't do that.  Instead, take your melon and cut it through the middle like you were cutting it into pies. Now take one of the pies, lay it on a plate, and trim off the rind. Now this is a pretty pie. Cut and serve any way you like.

Finally, there was one thing that my dad taught me about eating watermelon that is just too good not to share. This is a secret that needs to be shared. Dad always salted his melon. Just a little bit gets the job done. Try it with a little of the Wholefood Farmacy Stardust Raw Sea Salt on your next big, fat, juicy watermelon.  You may just be, pleasantly surprised.

   Great Dollars and Good Cents

Adrian Goad of Smyrna, TN has, once again, in April, won the monthly Enroller Contest.  Adrian enjoys the prizes that he receives from winning but is even happier with the weekly checks that just keep coming and coming. And then there are the monthly checks that just keep coming and coming.

Freely, Adrian shares his top secrets. "Just keep talking and sharing and talking and sharing."  Adrian first ordered online in October, 2004. His first order was a Tri-Decathlon. He lost 10 pounds, but hastens to say that the real shift came in the knowledge that quality is more important than quantity. The move toward good, clean, pure foods has served to reboot his energy and drive. He says that as awesome as the shift was, that it is the continuing changes that really excite him.

A two time first place winner and once a second place winner, Adrian casually promotes his business, runs small ads, and works Expos, fairs and such. He also walks the walk, talks the talk, and lives the message.  What A Guy!

Congratulations also to Pami of Louisville, KY for taking 2nd place; and congratulations to Barbara Lee of Blue Springs, MO, and to Terrence Hillsman of Murfreesboro, TN, and to Debra Yielding of Bossier City, LA  for earning the three 3rd place prizes.

If you would like to find out more about this contest,  please go to the March newsletter in the News & Events section of your WFF website. Everyone is welcomed and urged to participate. Congratulations from the Wholefood Farmacy to all the participants.

Remember,  chew your Phi Plus,  drink lotsa Water,  get some summertime Sunshine,  take a Walk daily,  and DON'T be a Secret Agent.

As Always, we are at your service,
